Lession - #836 HDFS Overview

What is HDFS and the way that it works?

The manner in which HDFS works is by having a main « NameNode » and various « data nodes » on a ware equipment bunch. Every one of the hubs are typically coordinated inside similar actual rack in the data center. Information is then separated into independent « blocks » that are disseminated among the different information hubs for storage.

Features of HDFS

  • Data replication. This is utilized to ensure that the data is generally available and prevents data loss.
  • Fault tolerance and reliability.
  • High availability.
  • Adaptability(Scalability>
  • High throughput.
  • Data locality.

    Is HDFS a database?

It has a storage component called HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System>
which stores documents utilized for handling but HDFS doesn't qualify as a data base, it is only a storage model.
